Psycho-Sleuth is out now on Steam, and the free demo is still up. This site is its case file: what the game is, what the trial asks, and every number that is published. No story solutions, no culprit, no ending.

What Psycho-Sleuth is

A mystery visual novel from PHOSEPO, a Taiwanese studio, published by Thermite Games and Smilegate. You are dropped into a cult called Li — the Logic Church — which runs a contest called the Selection. Thirteen people are brought in, each carrying a different rare cognitive disorder, and each disorder is contagious: it leaks out of its owner and rewrites the room. One contestant is a killer. Your job is to reconstruct a scene where the evidence itself is lying.

The loop is fixed: a murder, an investigation into a space a disorder has quietly ruined, then a debate.

Out now, and what it costs

Steam lists 4 November 2026. The studio's own announcement says 5 November — the same launch from a different time zone. The game is $19.99, and it is 10% off for the first 14 days, so $17.99 today.

The trial, in one paragraph

The Logic Church's rule is short: kill without being found out, and you ascend to godhood. Thirteen Afflicted are summoned, one takes the offer, and the rest become suspects, witnesses and obstacles. Each chapter is one round: a body, a corrupted scene, a debate. The disorders are the puzzle, not flavour. A suspect with spatial neglect cannot see the left half of a room, so a weapon on the left of the table never existed for them; a suspect who cannot recognise faces describes a room full of strangers. Working out which testimony is broken, and why, is the game.

Before you start

  • Try the demo first. Two hours, free, still on Steam, now with extra cutscene clues added for launch.
  • Expect about 20 hours by the studio's own estimate, assuming you read.
  • Avoid the community hub in week one. Spoiler titles are already up.
  • Voice acting is Japanese only. Five text languages, one audio track.
  • Steam Deck is listed as Unsupported for graphics performance, despite the demo being advertised as Deck-compatible in 2025.

Straight answers

How long is it? About 20 hours, five chapters, one trial each.

Is there a demo? Yes, free, still up, covering the opening case.

Does my demo save carry over? PHOSEPO has not published a transfer path, and Chapter 1 was rebuilt for launch, so plan on a fresh start.

Is it gory? Bloody, displayed in full by default, with a Gore Display toggle if you stream.

  1. What Psycho-Sleuth actually is — genre, studio, three-beat loop.
  2. Release date and price — discount window, bundles.
  3. Chapters and story structure — five chapters, no spoilers.
  4. Pathosync and the afflicted powers — the named disorders.
  5. Chapter 1 walkthrough — the opening case, two softlocks.
